Six tips to deepen your intuition
We’ve all experienced moments when we have a strong feeling that something doesn’t feel right. That feeling might come up when you first meet a new person, when you are about to commit to a deal or when you are looking at the menu outside a restaurant. Some people experience strong feelings about areas outside their immediate circle of influence. They will just sense how a situation or person will play out.
‘I think there is something funny about that person’ or ‘I don’t feel right about the deal/ this house’ etc. are all emotion based statements. Intuition is not a gift that only special people have, it’s one of your senses, designed to act like a pilot boat and steer you in the right direction. The feeling that something is right/wrong is signalled through your feelings.
Whether you want to develop your intuition so that you can trust yourself or whether you wish to expand into clairvoyance, there are simple steps you can take to awaken, develop and expand your intuitive powers.
1. Become aware of what you feel.
Intuition is based in the awareness of feelings so become present to what you feel. Ask yourself several times a day, what do I feel now? Don’t engage too much in what you feel, simply allow yourself to go there. Bathe in your feelings, let your sensory world enrich your life, focus on the smell of a rose; your baby; your new car; luxuriate in all the feelings that arise.
2. Check into your ability to trust.
What do you trust most- people or your abilities? Once you have worked out what you trust the most and what you don’t trust, you will be able to distinguish between your fearful thoughts and what you actually trust. In that way you will learn to trust your feelings (which are the basis of your intuition).
3. Intuition is enhanced by physical balance and well-being.
Keeping your energy field clean can greatly enhance intuition. Being hydrated, participating in regular physical exercise, rest, play and the release of stress will enable all of your senses to operate at an optimal level. If your body is well maintained you will be able to interact with your inner multi- sensory experience of intuition. Instead of focusing on signals about thirst or rest, you will be able to ‘hear’ the other signals that are being sent to you.
4. Meditate
Meditation is a tool which enables your intellectual mind to have a power nap and tap into your feelings.
5. Highly developed intuition can open up into clairvoyance.
What is the difference between intuition and clairvoyance? They sit at the two ends of a spectrum/scale of 1-10. From the 1-5 end of the scale you sit in awareness of your feelings. These feelings are not random they follow an intuitive pathway developed within you- based on all of your senses of touch, hearing, taste, smell and sight. At this end of the scale, feelings move from weak to strong to inner knowing. From the 5-10 end of the scale (clairvoyance) , feelings are not necessarily your guide anymore – what you can see, hear or touch may be completely unrelated to your life. You won’t necessarily have any emotional connection with events that you observe. This inner knowing is given to you in the form of pictures, images sound and so on. This information that comes from deep within you is knowledge. At this end of the scale you have tapped into the collective unconscious or Source energy. You can think of this area as a newsfeed where information is readily available
6. The power of intuition is to allow your own feelings to guide your path forward.
How wonderful to develop an intuitive muscle that will let you see/know how events will unfold. Use it in your daily life, your business world and let your world expand.
