How Will You Win if You Don’t Enter the Game?

Spirit is telling you to celebrate that it’s time to reclaim your hopes and dreams. Start playing the game of life; it’s your turn.

How many people do you see repeating the same thing over and over again? They talk about buying a boat, renovating their home, taking a trip around the world for six months, writing a book or designing a computer game, yet two to three years later they are still talking about the same goals. In your case, you might be living and carrying out a fully functioning life and yet you must understand that living a life and embracing your life fully are two different things. You appear to be doing a lot without moving forward. You are stuck on the same treadmill, no closer to reaching your goal. What is keeping you there? You are being called to learn the rules of the Game of Life and to feel connected to the creative flow of love from Source.

The Game of Life

Purpose of the game

The purpose of the Game of Life is to connect to the ultimate source, which is love. To do so in the Game of Life you connect to different aspects of yourself to experience Flow. This flow is the energy source of love and in this connection you will feel love and compassion for yourself and others. Your true goal then is a feeling: to feel connected to your inner core (true self ), to feel love and to feel compassion. You have chosen a project that is going to give you these feelings. In the process of this game you will also experience a feeling of success, achievement, and a sense of well-being.

Rules of the game
The first rule is you set yourself a goal. In setting your goal you might ask yourself questions such as: ‘What do I want to feel and experience in order to embrace my life fully? What are the steps I would like to take to get to that state?’ When your goal is set you are ready to begin the game and move towards your goal. You identify several key skill building tasks to be under-taken along the way. The tasks, such as cold-calling, being confident about being seen, opening up to acknowledgement and receiving love, etc., are the doorways you are being asked to move through. They are designed to either expand your consciousness or to heal your past so that you understand how to fit the experience into the larger picture of your life’s purpose. They form the bridge from where you are to where you want to go – to growing into the self who can accept and be the person at the end of the goal line. As each task brings you to a new doorway, you call upon your existing skills, assets and talents in order to flow through the Game of Life. If you do not have the required skills you may not be able to move through the door and therefore will not experience flow. Your ability to open each door is the key to flow.

Pass Go

Like in the game of Monopoly, in order to keep flowing through the Game of Life you must ‘Pass Go’. If you pass through a door you will feel flow. If you don’t pass through the door you will feel stuck on the same treadmill. When you choose a task for which you have developed all preparations necessary and are ready to proceed then you will be able to simply open the doorway of these tasks, raise your consciousness and apply new skills. You will ‘Pass Go’ and experience a positive emotion like a rush of energy from the infinite Source. You experience a connection to yourself and the enjoyment of flow.

There will be doorways that stop you. You will not be able to open them right away. Recognise these doorways that present obstacles as an opportu-nity to develop new skills in order to connect to your true self. When you face such a doorway ask, ‘What is the emotional boundary I am learning to expand, learning to set in acknowledgement of my identity?’ The function of the doorway is always to expand your emotional self. Each doorway that presents the emotional obstacle (feeling) is designed to point you in the right direction, to ‘Pass Go’ in your version of Monopoly and to meet your goal of connecting to self. When you do this you fully experience what is in front of you, the moment at hand, and you experience flow.

An example of a doorway presenting an opportunity for your expansion may be your critical self. When you face this door the words ‘Professional Life Critic’ are etched on a hanging plaque. Unable to open this doorway you might experience a thought such as, ‘I can’t move forward because I’m afraid of criticism’. The doorway you’re not able to open is presenting this emotional block which keeps you from connecting to your true self (and experiencing flow). To move through this emotional block you have to understand what the emotion means for you. You do this by connecting to all the parts of you that are afraid of criticism, that have used criticism or have learned to be critical of yourself and others. In this way you connect to all the parts within yourself (the internal judge, critic and enforcer) that are critical of you and others. You are aiming to connect as many pieces of your critical self as you can in order to bring yourself out of a dissociated state and to restore flow. Once you have connected all of the aspects of this part of self, like putting together the pieces of an emotional puzzle, you arrive at a new consciousness. The pieces of the puzzle of your life automatically put themselves into an order that allows you to open up and pass through the doorway to reconnect to your core. And in this you experience flow. When you are in flow you are wired up and fully connected to the Source within you. This connection provides you with the energy and resources you need. In flow you are on purpose, there is no feeling of comparison, competition, or insecurity. You are in the Game of Life.

The distorted rules of your game:

If you have chosen this card you have created a new end point. You have moved the goalpost for the game and have replaced your goal of flow with a new goal of endless striving and yearning (frustration, anger, etc.). You’ve forgotten your own game and have therefore forgotten all the rules and how to play your game. The game is to see through each of the hurdles and obstacles and to let them point you in the right direction. By moving the goalpost you are fully enmeshed in these obstacles, thinking this is your life’s goal to simply live in or get through all these feelings. This interference creates a static as if your emotional radio is not set on any clear station and the end point you are seeking is lost in this fog. You may end up avoiding the game of your own life. Get back to the rules. Set your goal. See the doorways as opportunities to feel love and enter flow. Trust in your bigger picture. You are on the right path, you caught the right bus – everything will happen. Allow yourself to relax and enjoy the moment. Let your spirit guide you as you take your turn playing your Game of Life.
